We had a speaker her for three days. I listened to eight speeches and he talked about wittenesing. He wittnessses to people all the time and it was really awesome to hear some of his stories.
And he said that we had an assignment, we were to wittness to random strangers about Jesus(!).
The challenging was…challeging. In the begining when i first heard him speak about it, I got these images of people in suits knocking on my door asking: “Do you know Jehova?”
But as I got used to the idea I started to appreciate stuff a lot more.
And I was there when Sander wittnesed to the Drivers On Call guy.
It was just lie okay and then he dropped us off. But when we returned, his eyes were watery. He said he had just been crying and he showed us his cell phone. He had just recived a message from a Christian friend he hadn’t talked to in a month. I looked down at the message and there was this one simple sentence:
“God is going to solve to of your major problems tonight”.
We looked at each other and I feelt this swesome feeling, as if God had just spoken into our lifes, as if his breath came in and made my view on wittnesing new. Somewhere it says “Look, I make all things new’.
He certainly changed the DOC-guy. He had told Sander he was a christian but that he sometimes doubted because people say all types of things.
I took a glimpse at the front mirror and tears were rolling down his checks.
He told us that we should tell this story to the people that wittneses to him.
We gave him a bunch of tips.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yes,” some of us said. He accepted the money and phrases like ” God bless you” could be heard. And the simple phrase seemed more real to me that night, than it ever has before.
